Barclay Public Library Meeting Room

President Val Green called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Laura, Jenny, Jean, Maria, Val, Rita, Kay and Lacey were present.

There were no remarks from the public.

BILLS:  Motion by Rita, second by Laura to approve payment of the September bills. All aye

TREASURER'S REPORT:  filed for audit

SECRETARY'S MINUTES:  filed for audit

LIBRARIAN'S REPORT

·        The second tax payment from Macon County has been received ($82,304.71)

·        The library received annexation notices from Decatur for two properties in Boiling Springs.

·        An application for FY2015 Per Capita Grant has been submitted to expand print and non-print materials.

·        An application has been submitted to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity requesting an energy incentive rebate for the new air conditioning units. The total should be $1,379.80. The new units were installed on September 23.

·        The library now has World eBook that provides nonfiction titles for student use.

·        Lacey and  Ann Adkesson are the co-chairs for Think Outside the Barn committee.

·        Barclay will partner with the Warrensburg-Latham Elementary School by sponsoring books on character education for first and fourth graders.

·        Student volunteers spread mulch donated by Romer Brothers in the library's flowerbeds.

·        First quarter circulation is slightly down compared to last year.

·        Finance

1. Motion by Maria, second by Rita to approve Levy Ordinance FY2014-15-5. Roll call vote:  7-0

2. The first quarter financial report was reviewed.

3. Motion by Jean, second by Kay to accept the financial statements from Estes, Bridgewater and Ogden were reviewed. All aye

·        Policy Review:  Motion by Jean, second by Laura to reaffirm our Patriot Act Response and the Confidentiality Policy. All aye

PERSONS OF THE MONTH:  Chelsea Walters, Erica Mooney, Emma Gardner and Brian Evans were selected for their help spreading mulch in the flowerbeds.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT:  Val reported on attending Trustee Day at ILA.
