The year 2015 marks 70 years since Barclay Public Library became an official, tax-supported library! To kickoff our celebration, the library is launching a “Give $15 in 2015” fundraising campaign, which will support Pyrle’s Legacy Fund.
Just as Pyrle Barclay established the library from her own collection of books to provide a cultural and educational institution for the community, “Pyrle’s Legacy Fund” was established to encourage individuals to take their place alongside hers in sustaining library services and programs for future generations.
Anyone who donates at least “$15 in 2015” to Pyrle’s Legacy will receive an “I Book at Barclay” window cling. Contributions of $500 or more are eligible for recognition on the Pyrle’s Legacy Fund plaque.
Make your donation ONLINE with a credit card HERE!
The celebration will continue throughout the year with an open-house party in April and the opportunity to purchase and engrave a brick for the library’s memorial patio. To find out more about Pyrle’s Legacy contact the library director at 672-3621 or email@example.com
Pyrle Barclay left Warrensburg a legacy – the foundation of a public library with a mission to educate and promote literacy. Just as Mrs. Barclay placed a firm belief in education and reading, the Barclay Public Library continues with Pyrle’s legacy through the offering of quality programs, materials and current technology. As we step into the future, our mission remains to encourage and promote reading and lifelong learning for the entire community. We ask that you join the library in continuing Pyrle’s Legacy. Please consider donating to the library through estate planning or charitable giving in order to provide future generations with opportunities to explore the world of books. For more information call 217-672-3621.
A donation of $500 or more is eligible for recognition on the
Pyrle's Legacy Plaque.
However, any amount will help ensure Mrs. Barclay's legacy continues.
